Sizes, and what fits what.
Pillow sizes and case sizes use the same names but different measurements, which is where most mismatched orders come from. Both are laid out below.

Cases run a little longer than the pillow they cover so the envelope flap can fold back on itself. That is intended, and it is what keeps the pillow from creeping out during the night.

Keep the gap filled
A side sleeper has the widest gap to bridge: the distance from the mattress to the outside of the shoulder. Run the Nuzzle full, both layers in, so the head stays level rather than tipping down toward the shoulder.
Support the curve, not the head
On your back the neck needs filling in behind, while the head itself should sit close to flat. Start with the outer layer in and the inner one removed, then add back a handful of fill if the chin drifts toward the chest.
As little as possible
Sleeping face down already extends the neck, so height works against you. Take both layers out and use the shell close to flat. If you wake with a stiff lower back, try the removed fill under your hips instead.
